Summer is a wonderful time to explore the Bruce, with a bounty of nesting birds, rare flowers and plants, snakes, turtles and more! Our hike will take to variety of habitats, including marshes, lakes and the rare freshwater coastal fen. We have the chance of encountering birds such as Black Tern, American Bittern, Scarlet Tanager, Osprey, Canada Warbler, Brewer's Blackbird and more! Throughout the day we will be offering identification pointers, discussing the natural history of the region and point out any interesting flora and fauna that we come across. We will try to ensure you get excellent views of all the wildlife the Bruce has to offer. This hike is accessible for those with physical challenges; the trails are well maintained and flat. We will spend the day birding at a slow and relaxed pace, taking frequent stops along the way.
